Crostone Bistro
In the very heart of Jiřího z Poděbrad Square of Prague 3, a new Italian bistro has come to life. Together with the owner, Aleš, we agreed that Italians are masters of sharing their lives and experiences through coming together over food and good wine. I was looking for a symbol that would capture this “Italian” spirit.
For the bistro, I chose the hummingbird — a symbol of an open heart, joy, and a love of communication. Its composition also pays homage to one of Leonardo da Vinci’s drawing studies, in which he depicted a hummingbird in the same compositional structure as the Vitruvian Man.
The illustration is further complemented by plants that can be found not only in the meadows of Tuscany.
